Moving Day

We moved to a different apartment today. The one we stayed in for the first few days was very close to Independence Square which is in the heart of the city. It was nice, but also more expensive than we wanted to pay for an extended stay. So our translator found an apartment a little further away from the center. It's nice and within easy walking distance of restaurants, a market, bank, etc. We ate at a French restaurant today that inspired chef Rod Danee' to cook up some dinner. We ventured to the market and bought some supplies, including pasta and bottled sauce. It was very good. The chef outdid himself! Everything here is such an adventure. We had the ladies at the market laughing as Rodney drew a picture of a chicken laying an egg. They didn't have any eggs, though, so we settled for porridge!

We appreciate your continued prayer and support. God willing we'll be home soon with a new addition to our family.

I'm so glad you're enjoying a bit of the culture and the people.

My husband is a great cook (thank goodness) and he also enjoyed the adventure of trying to find basic foods or seasonings we use all the time. Everytime we went to the outdoor markets or even the grocery stores, we created quite the scene as we sketched items, tried to use our translation book, etc. Thankfully, someone could generally figure out what we needed. LOL!

Praying you can enjoy a few days in Kiev and that your next appointment goes great!

Just found your blog this morning through the Seylers'. We were in Ukraine Nov/Dec 2007 and came home with an amazing 5 1/2 year old son from Mariupol, Donetsk. I'm praying that you guys have a restful weekend and that all goes well with your second appointment next week!!

We're thinking and praying for you guys!! Let's get together tonight or this afternoon. We didn't have such good luck at the market - ending up eating plain pasta noodles because the pasta sauce tasted like ketchup! (Who knows? Maybe it was!!)

We will be praying for the rest of your time their knowing that God is working out every second of every day for his purposes and your good. Can't wait to see what he does. I will also pray for continued hot water and good food(things that would be very important to me). Love ya'll.
